Avtex Tv L219DRS Pro Review 2021
This is our review on the Avtex L219DRS Pro Tv. Its actually my own Avtex tv that I bought for our Elddis Majestic motorhome after a lot of researching and asking other campers what they were using.
We were previously given an Avtex tv to review the L199DRS Pro (review here) and we liked it. Another year on and it was time to buy my own.
I knew what size I wanted ( 21″ or so) as the measurements fitted the wall in my motorhome well. I think that this screen size is the most optimal for motorhome or caravan tv’s as it can be mounted to the back of bathroom walls etc with out protruding too much in to the walk way in vans.
I also bought the Vision Plus Triple arm bracket with its quick release fitting, more on that later.
I decided to go for the PRO avtex as opposed to the “Connected ” series tv which have wifi built in, the PRO’s have the DVD/CD drive built in instead and can also record programs to USB.
First impressions of Avtex Tv
First impressions are how slim and light it is, the dimensions seem almost too small for a 21.5″ screen thanks to the tiny bezels.
The Avtex L219DRS Pro Tv’s are not cheap but the quality of the finish of the brushed metal surround just feels decent. As per the L199DRS Pro it doesn’t creak or have that plastic feel like our previous tv ( a 10 year old Cello) which to be fair still works well but I had been spoilt reviewing the Avtex earlier in the year and was in the mood for a new gadget!

Whats in the box?
In the box is:
- Avtex Tv L219DRS PRO (with stand fitted)
- Leads to run on 12volt or 240v
- Remote with batteries
- Instructions and screws for a wall bracket to tv fixing
This Avtex tv has a 21.5″ screen and has a full HD LED display at 1920 x 1080p which gives a great picture at this size, very noticeable compared to our previous 720p Tv. The picture is nice and sharp and obviously even better in HD.
Viewing angles are also excellent with no funny colours when looking from the side. It looks a neat package when fitted to the wall as the wires can be strapped up using the in-built tie wrap.
Features that I like are that it has twin HD Freeview tuners so you can record another program whilst watching another although you do need to plug in a memory stick to do this, something i will play with when away next. It also has twin satellite tuners built in as well which is excellent as we’ve been looking into getting a sat dome just to get complete our dream van.
In the mean time Im using the vans Teleco aerial which works ok but i still think our Vision Plus 580 on our last van was better.
Check out our aerial round up post here.
Avtex Tv features

The built in DVD player is good although we dont really watch them that often when away but we tend to use it more as a CD player.
The remote is quite straight forward, as always there are buttons the average person will never use but all the main buttons are bigger and in the most obvious position. Select what you want to use with the ‘source’ button , DVD, DVB (freeview), satellite, HDMI etc and away you go using the arrows and OK button.
AQT is the feature i like the most as this re-tunes the tv channels if you are in a new area, no looking through menus etc just turn on the tv and hit AQT and let it do its thing, brilliant. You can also do this without the need for the remote as it has an AQT button on the back of the tv along with other basic controls which would get you by if you forgot the remote.
The Tv guide once tuned is very good, nice and clear and in an order you would expect i.e BBC1 first etc, no rearranging the channels.
Sound wise its ok really not a great deal of bass to the sound but then this seems the norm on most small Tv’s, I messed about with the sound settings straight away as its set to a very flat average sound from new, with a bit of tinkering I was pleased and is totally fine for the confines of the motorhome.
I have to mention the Vision Plus Triple Arm Tv bracket that i bought at the same time as its brilliant! Its made from strong plastic which sounds like its not the most convincing thing to hold your brand new Tv but its solid.
Again these are not the cheapest on the market but they are much lighter than the usual metal ones (remember that you might be screwing into lightweight plywood in your van) and they come with the quick release bracket that you screw to the back of your Tv. Great for hiding the tv away from prying eyes, it can be found on Amazon here.

Overall I’m really happy with my Avtex Tv and bracket combo. I feel that ive got a really great bit of kit that hopefully will last me a while. The 3 year parts and labour warranty is also a bonus that has given me confidence in buying something that is not cheap.
I would absolutely recommend the Avtex L219DRS Pro if you are thinking about investing in a quality motorhome or caravan tv.
